Germany Women squad announced for T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers in Spain

The German Cricket Association (DCB) have announced a 14-member Women’s national squad for the upcoming European regional qualifiers for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Spain from August 26th – 30th, 2021.

Germany Women will be competing against the likes of Ireland, Netherlands, France, Scotland and Turkey in the 6-nation qualifiers, from which the top team will qualify for the global qualifiers. Germany Women took part in the European qualifiers held in Spain in 2019 for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as well, where they competed against Scotland and Netherlands.

Germany Women have been one of the Associate members to have played the most amount of games leading up-to the qualifiers, having toured Oman in February 2020 and hosted Austria Women in September 2020 and France Women in July 2021. With an unbeaten streak of 14 WT20Is so far and only 3 behind the all-time record currently held by Thailand Women, Germany Women will be hoping to continue their momentum against more formidable opponents in the form of Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands. It will also be the first time when Germany Women squad play against a Full member team in a WT20I game.
