Estonia Cricket Association (ECA) will be hosting the men’s national squads from Latvia and Lithuania in the 2021 Baltic Cup T20 tournament in Tallinn on August 12th – 13th, 2021. The matches will be played as regular T20 games as both Latvia and Lithuania do not have associate status from International Cricket Council (ICC) currently.
Estonia players, who have been playing domestic cricket at home in T20 and 40-overs formats since May 2021, will compete in the event as part of the “A” squad along with the national squad, and will play against both Latvia and Lithuania in a double round-robin group stage format at the Estonian National Cricket ground and Rugby Fields ground. All the matches will be live streamed on Estonia Cricket’s YouTube channel.
The Cricket Board is also trying to arrange T20Is for the national squad in the remainder of 2021 and have started training camp for the national squad as well and the Baltic Cup event will provide the coaching set-up a good look at the players who will playing in the “A” squad for potential new faces to introduce in the national team.
