The last time the Women’s national squad of Jersey were in action was during their tours of UK and Northern Ireland in 2021, and the squad already has a packed scheduled arranged for them in 2022, with Sportscast Jersey breaking the news with their interview with Rose Hill (Player/Coach). Jersey Women’s squad is going to travel to France in May 2022 for a WT20I quadrangular series featuring the host’s, along with teams from Austria and Spain, followed by a home series in June 2022 against their channel islands neighbour, Guernsey, in the Women’s Inter-Insular series. In July 2022, Jersey Cricket will host the Northern Lights Women’s team from Belfast for a T20 series and will then travel to Austria to play a WT20I Tri-series in August 2022 involving the host’s and the Italian Women’s team.
The last time Jersey Women competed in the Inter-Insular series (watch the brief history of the series here) was in 2019 in a one-off WT20I against Guernsey Women, and the traditional series will be back after a gap of couple of years due to COVID-19 pandemic situation. The 2021 series against Northern Cricket Union (NCU) Women in Ireland saw the Jersey Women lose the series 2-1, and the return home series this year will continue the bi-lateral arrangement between the cricket boards. The series will consist of five (5) matches in T20 and 35-overs formats from July 19th – 23rd.
