USA Cricket have announced that their Men’s senior squad is up for a busy schedule in 2022, with as many as five (5) rounds of CWC League 2 Championships pencilled in, which will take USA very close to their overall quota of 36 ODI matches in the Championships.
USA Cricket will host back to back rounds in CWC League 2 from May – June, before travelling to Namibia, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland for the other three (3) rounds in the Championships. As per the original schedule by ICC (which got disrupted in the past two years owing to COVID-19 pandemic), USA are scheduled to host Men’s teams from Scotland and United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 27th May – 03rd June, before hosting Men’s teams from Nepal and Oman for the next round.
USA Men’s team is scheduled to play with Scotland and UAE during their tour of Scotland from August 08th – 16th, Namibia and Papua New Guinea (PNG) during their tour of Namibia, and completing the schedule with PNG and Namibia during their tour of Papua New Guinea. USA Cricket have announced a 26-member National training group, from which the final squads for the tournaments will be chosen. USA Men’s team will also play a T20I Tri-series with Namibia and Jersey, before competing in 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifier B in Zimbabwe
In the lead-up to the series, Scotland and USA teams will play practice games against a select XI representing Northern California Cricket Association (NCCA) in Houston. Nepal team will also play two (2) lead-up games on June 02nd and 04th against Nepali All Stars team and MiLC team, Houston Hurricanes, while Oman team will play two (2) fixtures with an MLC Invitational XI squad.
