Bulgaria Cricket to host Serbia Men’s team for T20I series in June 2022

Bulgaria Cricket Association will be hosting the Men’s national squad of Serbia for a four (4)-match T20I series at National sports academy ground from June 24th – 26th, 2022. These fixtures will be the first T20Is in 2022 for the Serbian Men’s team, who recently hosted a select team from Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and played a T20 game on 29th May 2022.

The Bi-lateral series between Bulgaria and Serbia is part of the preparations for both the camps ahead of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe sub-regional qualifiers in June/July 2022. Bulgaria will travel to Finland for their sub-regional qualifier from 24th July, while Serbia will travel to Finland to take part in their sub-regional qualifier from 12th July.

Bulgaria have already played T20Is this year, when they travelled to Malta for the 6-nation Valletta Cup tournament, where they failed to register a win during the group stages, but won their position play-off game with Gibraltar to finish 5th in the tournament. This bi-lateral series will be the 2nd edition of Sofia T20 tournament, with the inaugural edition held last year between teams from Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Romania.
