Cricket Papua New Guinea (CPNG) will be hosting the Women’s National teams of Samoa, Vanuatu and the Indigenous team of Australia in the Pacific Invitational Tournament from June 15th – 21st, 2025 at Amini Park ground, as part of Papua New Guinea’s celebration of fifty (50) years of independence. The tournament was conceptualised during the PacificAus Sports partnership agreement extension to support cricket and players in the Pacific Region, in collaboration with Cricket Australia. This annual tournament will bring together Pacific teams and Australian First Nations sides, showcasing top-tier cricketing talent and reinforcing cultural connections.
Under the previous partnership, which ran from 2022 to 2024, Australia Indigenous teams toured Vanuatu as well in May 2023, along with player placements to grade-level clubs based in Australia.
