Afghanistan U-19 training in India to prepare for ACC U-19 Asia Cup

Afghanistan U-19 cricket team have arrived at the CSS-Whatmore Centre of Cricket at Sri Ramachandra Medical College (SRMC) to prepare for the upcoming ACC U-19 Asia Cup in November at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Since becoming an ICC Full member, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) decided to give them direct entry to the competition as they were earlier scheduled to play the Western region Qualifiers.

Afghanistan U-19 squad will play 4 practice games and train at the facility until November 07th, before departing for Malaysia. Former Afghanistan coach Andy Moles is looking after the team as the head coach now.

Afghanistan will play against fellow Asian test members, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh along with Hong Kong, Nepal and one qualifier from the Western region Qualifiers. The tournament has a big significance for Afghan U-19 boys, being held only few months before the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, to be held in February 2018 in New Zealand.
