USA national cricket team will embark on their tour of both Abu Dhabi and Oman later in November to play a series of matches against WCL teams Nepal, Kenya & Oman.
While Nepal and Kenya will be in UAE to play their final round of WCL Championship matches, Oman will be participating in the upcoming ICC WCL Division 2 in Feb 2018 in Namibia. Barring few changes, the look of the 15-member USA side is almost the same when they faced Canada recently in the Auty Cup ODI series, which they won after a long gap of 26 years.
Former Hyderabad Ranji player and current US resident, Ibrahim Khaleel will continue to lead the side following his appointment for the Auty Cup series, which was a success for the team under his maiden series as captain.
USA Chairman of selector, Ricardo Powell said “We decided to keep the team largely unchanged due to the recent success, both on and off the field, of the current playing group. The team performed exceptionally well in Toronto during the Auty Cup an showed true fighting spirit which is a trait that is so important to what we are building in the United States.”
USA Project manager, Eric Parthen said “Given this is the first International tour that incorporates the new marks of USA cricket, we will be providing fans an opportunity to support the team through the purchase of official team apparel.”
USA will travel to Abu Dhabi on Nov 28th and then take part in their training and preparatory drills before the matches take place.
