Ireland finished their campaign in the ICC Intercontinental Cup for the last time after 7 long years when they defeated Scotland by 203 runs at Dubai. They now await to see if UAE can force a draw against Afghanistan, that will see them win the title.
Peter Chase spearheaded an impressive Irish attack with 4/52, his best figures for Ireland, as Scotland were all out for 178 chasing 382 to win.
Scotland will now finish sixth in the eight-team table after the defeat.
The maximum-points win takes Ireland to the top of the table, but Afghanistan will claim the crown for the second time if they avoid defeat against UAE on the final day.
