Oman Cricket team continued their winning streak with their second successive series victory, defeating Hong Kong by 7 wickets in the second game of the 3-match series to take an unassailable 2-0 lead at Sevens Cricket Ground in Dubai.
Batting first, Hong Kong batsmen managed to put up a 71-run 2nd wicket partnership before suffering a big collapse which saw them reduced to 100/6. The back-end of the batting line-up could not provide much resistance either as they got bowled out for only 135 in 47.1 overs. Ahmed Fayyaz Butt and Khawar Ali picked up three wickets each while Jay Odedara and Zeeshan Maqsood took 2 wickets apiece.
Anshuman Rath (44) and Babar Hayat (39) provided good stand for the 2nd wicket, but there was no other major contributions from the rest of the group.
Oman took only 19.2 overs to chase down the target with Aqib Ilyas playing a quickfire innings of 64 off only 29 deliveries. Zeeshan Maqsood too got among the runs and remained unbeaten on 29 while Arun Poulose contributed 26 runs. Anshuman Rath picked up 2 of the 3 wickets to fall for Oman.
