Nepal crowned ACC U-16 Asia Cup Eastern region Champions

Nepal U-16 defeated Singapore U-16 by 72 runs in the final to claim the Asian Cricket Council U-16 Eastern Region tournament in Thailand.

Nepal U-16 gave a target of 184 runs for Singapore U-16 but dismissed them for only 112 runs to win the title.

Batting first, Nepali inning was built mainly around a 63-run knock by Bishal Bikram KC and a quickfire knock by Narayan Joshi, who made a 23-ball 46. Suwash Ayer (22), Trit Raj Das (19) and Sunil Bhandari (15) also contributed useful runs in the middle.

Sai Harsha Venugopal top scored with 31 runs and Arnav Wadhwa made 21 runs for Singapore U-16 but none of the other batsmen could not stay longer at the crease to take the game deep. Surya Tamang and Ajay Kumar Loniya claimed three wickets each for Nepal U-16.

A wonderful achievement for Nepal Cricket and hopefully, some of the U-16 boys will go on to represent Nepal in the U-19 and senior level as well in the near future.
