ICC East Asia-Pacific Men’s team registered back-to-back victories against Western Australia Country and Victoria Country in the T20 category of the 2018 Toyota Australian Country Championships.
However, they missed out on qualifying for the final as New South Wales Country and Queensland Country made it to the finals based on wins and better net run-rate. Nonetheless, a successful T20 outing for the ICC EAP squad with notable performances by Hiri Hiri, Nalin Nipiko, Jelany Chilia, Patrick Matautaava and Sese Bau showing good skills before the 50-overs competition starts from 07th Jan 2018.
PNG players in the squad are preparing themselves for ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Mar 2018 in Zimbabwe, whereas Vanuatu players are getting much required game time before ICC WCL Division 4 in Apr 2018 in Malaysia.
