Bengaluru to host Afghanistan’s debut Test match against India in June 2018

It has been confirmed by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) after their meeting with BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) that Afghanistan will play their debut Test match against India from June 14th – 18th @M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

ACB chief Atif Mashal met with BCCI delegates and the decision was made to have Afghanistan play their maiden test match in 2018. BCCI also confirmed that another stadium along with the facility at Greater Noida will be at Afghanistan’s disposal to be used as their home base for home series matches in the future. The designated stadium will be the Ekana Stadium in Lukhnow.

Afghanistan were granted Test status in June 2017 and they play their first ever Test match, exactly after a year of the announcement.
