PNG’s Pokana cleared to resume bowling in International Cricket

Papua New Guinea left-arm pace bowler Nosaina Pokona has been cleared to resume bowling in International cricket following his suspension from bowling after an independent assessment had found that his bowling action was illegal in Jan 2018.

Pokana made adjustments to his bowling action before applying for assessment on 05th Jun 2018 at the National Cricket Centre, Brisbane, where his action was deemed as “Legal” with his bowling action within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the rules.

According to ICC statement, Pokana was reported during the World Cricket League ODI between PNG and Hong Kong in Dubai on 8th Dec 2017 and did an independent assessment of his bowling action on 06th Jan 2018 at the National Cricket Centre, Brisbane. Pokana was part of ICC East Asia-Pacific squad which took part in the 2018 Toyota Australian Country Championships.
