Kenyan batting collapse leads to 3rd consecutive loss against Zimbabwe “A”

Kenyan batting woes on their tour of Zimbabwe continued as they lost their 3rd consecutive match against Zimbabwe “A” by 7 wickets at Mature.

After Kenya got bowled out for paltry 145 in 39 overs, Zimbabwe “A” chased down the target in the 25th over, scoring 148/3 to win the match by 7 wickets. Other than Alex Obanda & Collins Obuya, none of the other batsmen looked comfortable out in the middle as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Inability to play out for longer periods of time and forging meaningful partnerships have been the downplay for the Kenyan side.

With nothing commendable to defend, the bowlers are given very tough tasks to defend low totals as they give their best to pick wickets and are able to do so but in order to mount challenges to their opponents in ICC WCL Division 2, Kenya desperately needs their batting line-up to contribute more heavily.

Cephas Zhuwao, Tarisai Musakanda & Ryan Murray continued their good form with the willow as the once again come out trumps against the Kenyan bowling attack.

Brief Scores:

Kenya 145 all out in 39 overs (Alex Obanda 39, Collins Obuya 24, Brandon Mavuta 3/31, Tinotenda Mutombodzi 2/22, Chris Mpofu 2/23, Donald Tiripano 1/38) lost to Zimbabwe “A” 148/3 in 24.5 overs (Tarisai Musakanda 46 n.o, Cephas Zhuwao 46, Ryan Murray 40 n.o, Lucas Uluoch 1/21, Hiren Varaiya 1/53) by 7 wickets
