Afghanistan announce squad for ODI series against Zimbabwe in Feb 2018

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming 5-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Feb 2018 in UAE.

The squad for the T20 series will be announced later. The ODI series is Afghanistan’s last assignment before ICC World Cup Qualifiers. There will be most probably few matches scheduled before the qualifiers but whether they would be ODI’s or practice games, needs to be seen.

Afghanistan welcome back hard hitting wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Shahzad, back into the fold after the completion of his 12 months suspension from Doping violation, in Jan 2018.

Few notable ommision’s were made to the squad after their 2-1 ODI series loss to Ireland last month in Sharjah.

Asghar Stanikzai (Captain), Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mohammad Shahzad, Dawlat Zadran, Shapoor Zadran, Najibullah Zadran, Javed Ahmadi, Nasir Jamal, Gulbadin Naib, Mujeeb Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Samiullah Shenwari, Ihsanullah Janat & Sharafuddin Ashraf

Reserve Players: Noor Ali Zadran, Karim Janat, Sayed Ahmad Shirzad & Afsar Zazai
