Afghanistan Cricket Board have announced the T20I and ODI squads, which will be travelling to Ireland for a limited-overs tour, scheduled to take place from 20th – 31st Aug 2018 and consisting of three T20I’s and ODI’s each.
The selectors also stressed on the fact that the top performers in the domestic tournaments will be given the pathway to the senior national side through “A” team and U23/Emerging team tournaments/series.
Some notable omissions from the squad are opening bat Noor Ali Zadran, bowler Shapoor Zadran and veteren pace bowler Hamid Hassan, who remain sidelined due to injury treatments. Afghanistan players are currently in action in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament.
