Afghanistan Cricket Board are leaving no stones unturned as they focus all their thought process towards securing one of the spots for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup available from the World Cup Qualifiers, due to be held in Mar – Apr 2018 in Zimbabwe.
After appointing Phil Simmons from West Indies as their national squad Head Coach a few weeks earlier, the Cricket Board has now appointed multiple coaches for a short-term basis until the conclusion of the World Cup Qualifiers.

Jagdish Desai from India has been hired as the Batting Coach, while Charl Langeveldt from South Africa has been appointed as the Bowling coach for the Afghans.
Charl Langeveldt is a former South Africa national player and has been part of the South Africa coaching staff as well in the recent past.
The last appointment is for the location of fielding coach and the role has been handed to John Mooney from Ireland. Mooney, now retired ex-player for Ireland has been a instrumental figure in Ireland’s successes in ICC World Cups.
