New Test entrant, Afghanistan have an interesting line-up of 8 series comprising 3 ODI’s in the new ICC ODI League, which is the pathway to qualify directly for 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India. Afghanistan are currently participating in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, which is their 2nd appearance in Cricket’s showpiece event.

The top 8 countries from the 13-team ODI League will qualify automatically after the conclusion of 24 ODI’s to be counted towards the qualification process, while the bottom 5 along with Associate countries from WCL Championship will fight for the final qualification spots.

Afghanistan’s line-up of series from 2020-2022 in ICC Super League:

FY2020-2021: Afghanistan vs Pakistan (Home), Afghanistan vs Ireland (Home), Afghanistan vs Bangladesh (Away), Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka (Away)

FY2021-2022: Afghanistan vs Australia (Home), Afghanistan vs Netherlands (Home), Afghanistan vs India (Away), Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe (Away)

It needs to be seen whether Afghanistan will host their home series in either UAE or in India (Dehradun).
