Afghanistan U-19 boys have done their country proud once again as they beat Bangladesh U-19 in their own yard in the 5 match Youth ODI series.
Afghan U-19 registered a 33 runs victory over their Bangladeshi counterparts in the 5th ODI to win the ODI series 3-1.
Batsmen finally came to the fore as Afghanistan U-19 posted 239/6 in their 50 overs with Ibrahim Zadran scoring 83 runs and Darwish Rasooli scoring 75 runs. Qais Ahmad also contributed 28 runs to the total. Nayeem Hasan picked up 2/38 for his bowling efforts with Afif Hossain & Hasan Mahmud picking up a wicket apiece.
Afghan bowlers kept a nagging line to keep Bangladeshi batsmen from scoring runs and picked up wickets in the process with Wafadar Momand (4/52), the best bowler on show and got good support from Qais Ahmad (3/35) & Mujeeb ur Rahman (2/24).
Towhid Hridly played a lone hand in keeping Bangladesh U-19 in the hunt scoring 93 runs and got little bit of support from Saif Hasan (28) & Md. Rakib (25) but the rest of the line-up couldn’t manage to keep up with the asking rate in the end and got bowled out for 206 in 48.3 overs.
Mujeeb Zadran was adjudged as the Man of the Series.
