Afghanistan, who qualified for the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup from the qualifiers in Zimbabwe in Mar 2018, will open their campaign against Defending World Champions, Australia on 01st Jun 2019 at Bristol in a day-night game.
ICC Technical Committee proposed the Schedule, which will be confirmed by ICC (barring any last minute changes) on 26th Apr 2018 in their quarterly Board Meeting, current underway in Kolkata, India.
The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup will be a 10-team competition and will follow the format which was used in the Benson and Hedges World Cup, held in 1992 in Australia and New Zealand. All teams in the competition will play 9 group phase matches, upon completion of which, the top 4 team’s will advance to the Semi-finals of the World Cup.

If Afghanistan qualify for Semi-finals, then they will either okay SF1 on 09th Jul 2019 @Manchester or SF2 on 11th Jul 2019 @Birmingham. The World Cup final will be played at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground on 14th Jul 2019.
