Afro-Asia events to restart in Men’s, Women’s and age-group categories

Africa Cricket Association (ACA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 26th March 2022, and in attendance were Jay Shah (Asian Cricket Council president), Mahinda Vallipuram (Chairman of ACC Development Committee) and Prabhakaran Thanraj (Commercial and Event Manager of ACC).

The ACC and ACA are overseeing operations in both the continents, which constitutes 47 member countries (25 in Asia and 22 in Africa), both full members and Associate members. Sumod Damodar (ACA Chairman) and ACC members discussed on many key points that also included the restart of Afro-Asian events, which used to take place during 2005-2009.

Some of the key developments during the AGM meeting were to explore possibilities to host inter-continental events in U15, U17, U19 and Emerging categories, along with events for senior Men’s and Women’s teams. Facilitation of Cricket Education courses and webinars, Marketing and Commercial Benefits and Infrastructure developments will be the focus areas for both the organizations in the coming years.
