The second (2nd) edition of the American Premiere League (APL T20), which is a franchise-based T20 league officially sanctioned by USA Cricket and International Cricket Council (ICC), will be taking place at Moosa Cricket Stadium in Texas (which has hosted ICC CWC League 2 ODI matches in 2022) from December 19th – 31st, 2023. A total of seven (7) teams, namely Premium Afghans, Premium Americans, Premium Aussies, Premium Canadians, Premium Indians, Premium Pak and Premium Windies (Defending Champions from the inaugural edition), will play each other in a single round-robin group stage format, followed by the knock-out stage.
The tournament will feature players from many Full member countries and Associate member countries as well. USA International and domestic players (playing in Minor League Cricket and Major League Cricket competitions) will be in action along with players from Canada, Namibia and Oman. With the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup set to take place in the US in June, Canadian players will have the opportunity to play as a team in a franchise-based competition and gain valuable experience ahead of the showpiece event.
