Bahamas Cricket sign Andy Moles as Head Coach for T20 World Cup Americas qualifiers

Bahamas Cricket Association (BCA) have announced that former Afghanistan head coach Andy Moles has been roped in to oversee the men’s national squad preparations and campaign in the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas region qualifiers (Schedule and host nation yet to be confirmed by ICC). This, after the board received timely sponsorship deals in January 2021 from Trident 🔱 Sports, a Barbados based cricket equipment brand company, who are looking to invest in the growth of the sport in the country, coincidentally cricket being the national sport.

The company had chosen to sponsor Bahamas national squad member and opening batsman Marc Taylor, and as an extension to the deal, will sponsor The Bahamas’ national cricket team with training apparel and game uniforms. Bahama Blu Water has also come on board, as they have partnered with BCA and have provided training kits for the men’s national squad, as they prepare for the qualifiers and having not been in training for the good part of 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Bahamas Cricket Association (BCA) president Greg Taylor Sr. and Marc Taylor were presented with the kits during a presentation made at the Bahama Blu Water plant at the Airport Industrial Park. Marc Taylor, who was part of the player draft for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20, is hoping to put in strong performances to have a chance to get picked up in the draft next time by a franchise under the ICC Americas quota reserved for a player in the final squad.

Bahamas last International a tour was to Bermuda in 2019, where they played a series of T20 matches. Bahamas will be returning to an ICC event after a gap of 7 years, with their participation in regional qualification tournament in 2013 being their previous appearance. Andy Moles has been overseeing the coaches training programs for Uzbekistan Cricket Board in the early part of 2021 and the Bahamas role will be his next International assignment.
