Steven Douglas, Chairman of the BCB cricket committee said in his statement to Royal Gazette, “This [All-Star] game is one of the things we wanted to do as a committee, to get more players involved. I always felt that there are a lot of fringe players who would never get an opportunity. But there are a lot of guys from my seat as an umpire who I thought deserved an opportunity to be looked at. This type of game will allow guys to showcase themselves.”
