Zambia Premier League T10 launched with BetBarter and approved by Sports Ministry

Zambia Professional Cricket Association (ZPCA) have launched the inaugural edition of Zambia Premier League T10 tournament from Jul 04th – 12th, in association with a US$150,000 sponsorship deal with BetBarter, who were also the sponsoring partner for Vanuatu Cricket’s T10 tournament held in May/Jun 2020.

Four teams representing four major Zambian cities will be participating in the tournament, namely, Lusaka Heats, Kabwe Stars, Kitwe Kings and Ndola Blitz. All the teams will play each other in a double round-robin group stage format, before the knock-out stages in the tournament. The matches will take place at Lotus Sports Club grounds at Lusaka.

Sports minister Emmanuel Mulenga confirmed that the Zambia Professional Cricketers Association had been cleared to hold the tournament by relevant authorities. The tournament will have to adhere to the  COVID-19 prevention measures issued by the government. Zambia Professional Cricketers Association president Kushal Jain confirmed that the event will not have spectators on the ground.
