Bhutan men’s national player to play franchise T20 league in Nepal

Bhutan Cricket Men’s national squad player Ranjung Mikyo Dorji has been given the opportunity to play an overseas franchise-based T20 league in Nepal, and will represent Lalitpur Patriots in the Everest Premier League (EPL) T20 tournament at Tribhuvan University ground in Kirtipur from September 25th – October 09th, 2021. Dorji is the second overseas signing by the franchise after they signed up English county club (Kent) player Alex Blake in the squad.

Mikyo Dorji played his maiden T20I game for Bhutan team against Nepal during the 2019 South Asian Games held in Kirtipur, and has led his club SKD All Stars to Championship victory in the 2021 Bhutan T20 Smash tournament held in May/June in Thimpu. Dorji contributed 85 runs across 3 innings played during the tournament, and also showcased his all-round abilities, picking up 7 wickets from the 5 matches played by the club including the Final.

Lalitpur Patriots are a former winner of the Everest Premier League T20 tournament, having won the 2nd edition held in 2018 under current Nepal men’s national squad captain Gyanendra Malla, when they defeated Bhairahawa Gladiators in the Final.
