Cricket Bhutan will be organizing the Bhutan T20 smash domestic tournament will from 24th April 2021. A total of 9 teams will be participating in this tournament, which will see the final being played on 29th May 2021.
All the matches will be played at Jigmethang cricket ground, Dechencoling, Thimphu under strict COVID-19 protocol. Group A features teams from Dragon Strikers, JDWNRH, Dantak, Paro Virtual CC and True Warriors and will play their group stage matches from April 24th – May 16th.
Group B matches featuring teams from Youth XI, SKD All Stars, Titans and Babesa Renegades will take place from April 24th – May 09th. The top two teams from each group at the end of the single round-robin group stage format will advance to the semifinals.
Bhutan Men’s national squad are scheduled to take part in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup sub-regional qualifiers in the Asia region in Malaysia in July 2021 and the T20 Smash tournament will be crucial for domestic players to impress the national coaching staff to stake claim on spots in the national squad.
