Cricket South Africa (CSA) will announce the 2022/2023 domestic season calendar on 09th September 2022, with Division One teams set to participate in the CSA T20 Challenge, the CSA Four-Day Series and the CSA One Day Cup, while Division Two teams will play in the CSA T20 Knockout, the CSA Four-Day Series and the CSA One Day Cup tournaments. CSA have already confirmed the squads for the fifteen (15) provincial teams for the 2022/23 domestic season across both the divisions, with relegation system in place for the bottom-placed team in Division One.
Ahead of the season start, the Franchises have already begun their preparations and are playing against each other in warm-up fixtures in the T20 format ahead of the start of the CSA T20 Challenge and CSA T20 Knockout competitions for both the Divisions. The DP World Lions franchise have already played an overseas T20 competition in Namibia in September to begin their pre-season preparations.
