Cricket West Indies (CWI) have conducted the Professional Cricketers Draft for 2022-2023, with Six (6) Territorial Board Franchises selecting their respective squads comprising of thirteen (13) retained players and two (2) drafted players ahead of CG United Super50 Cup and the West Indies Championship. The Super50 Cup tournament will take place in Antigua & Barbuda and Trinidad & Tobago from October 27th – November 20th.
Six franchise teams, Barbados Pride, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Jamaica Scorpions, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, and the Windward Islands Volcanoes, will be joined by the West Indies Academy team and CCC. ICC Americas Associate members USA and Canada will not feature in the 2022/2023 edition of the Super50 Cup, however USA national squad member Karima Gore has been picked up by Leeward Islands franchise to take part in the competition. All the teams will play each other in a single round-robin group stage format, before the top 4 in the points table advance to the semifinals stage during the Super50 Cup. Group A features teams from Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, Windward Islands Volcanoes, Guyana Harpy Eagles and CCC, while Group B features teams from Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Barbados Pride, Jamaica Scorpions and the West Indies Academy. ESPN Caribbean are the exclusive Caribbean broadcast partner of the CG United Super50 Cup, while overseas broadcast partners are ESPN+ (USA), BT Sport (UK & Ireland) and FanCode (India).
