Hong Kong flex batting & bowling muscles in Asia Cup warm-up

The first-choice XI team’s of Hong Kong and Malaysia played their first warm-up match in the lead up to the Asia Cup qualifiers, starting in a week in Malaysia. Prior to this game, Malaysia President XI played a series of 3 matches against Hong Kong “A” where some of the National team members played.

Hong Kong bowlers dominated the Malaysian batting line-up as they bowled them for 141 in 36.4 overs with Nadeem Ahmed, Ehsan Nawas & Jhathavedh Subramanyan picking up two wickets apiece with Tanwir Afzal, Kinchit Shah, Ehsan Khan & Haroon Arshad also chipping in with a wicket in their bowling spell.

Syed Aziz Syed Mubarak was the top-scorer for Malaysia, contributing 42 runs with Virandeep Singh and Syahadat Ramli getting themselves into the 20’s.

In reply, Hong Kong went on a quick spree towards their target with Anshuman Rath getting himself a half-century and getting good support from his captain, Babar Hayat at the other end.

Hong Kong were cruising at 114/2 before a flurry of wickets fell in quick time but Hong Kong reached their target in 24.2 overs, scoring 142/6.
