Cricket Ireland have announced an 18-player provisional squad that will travel to United Arab Emirates in October 2021 to compete in the first round group of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The final 15-member squad for the tournament and three (3) travelling reserves will be named in October.
The squad will travel to the UAE on 24th September, with a proposed T20I series in discussion (most likely to get approved and announced shortly) on their agenda before the start of the T20 World Cup. Ireland will further play warm-up fixtures with Papua New Guinea (12th October) and Bangladesh (14th October), ahead of the start of the event on 17th October across Oman and UAE. The national squad has just concluded playing a home T20I series with the visiting team from Zimbabwe, while the CWC Super League ODI fixtures are being played currently.
