Kenya have continued on their slide downwards in the T20 Tri-series in Zimbabwe, as they slumped to their third consecutive loss after winning their first match in the tournament. In the 6th match of the series, Zimbabwe Select beat them comfortably by 7 wickets, chasing a low total set by Kenya.
Kenya’s batting dipped once Dhiran Gondaria (43) and Rakep Patel (20) departed as they got bowled out for only 104 runs in 19.3 overs. Zimbabwe Select reached the target in the 14th over, scoring 105/3 in the process.
Each team (Zimbabwe Select, Zimbabwe Board XI and Kenya) plays each other thrice during the round robin phase, following the conclusion of which, the top 2 teams will contest the Final on 19th Jun 2018.
Kenya are using the tournament for preparations for the upcoming ICC World T20 Africa “B” qualifiers in Rwanda in July 2018, where they will compete against Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania for top 2 qualifying spots in the Africa regional finals in 2019.
