MCC announce squad for Tour of Brazil and Chile

Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), cricket’s law-makers, have announced the squad for the first overseas tour of 2018, as they head to Brazil and Chile on a 15-day tour.

MCC will be playing against the National teams from Brazil, Chile and Peru, along with several matches lined up against local club sides, all of which will be played in T20 format.

The tour starts in Chile, where MCC will play Prince of Wales Country Club, followed by matches against Chile & Peru. Nets/Training sessions with Chile’s Women’s squad is also arranged as part of development of Women’s cricket in the South American region.

The squad them move to Brazil where they will play two T20 matches each against Sao Paulo Club & Brazil national squad and four T20’s against Carioca Cricket Club to conclude the tour.

Karl Pearson (Captain), Joe Barrs, Rohan Bhome, Evan Flowers, Doug Mulholland, William Rudge, Ajay Soni, Richard Soulsby, Reinhardt Strydom, Fabian Taylor & Oliver Uffindall

Michael Foster is the assigned tour manager and Phil Higgins will be the official tour umpire from MCC. MCC have toured both Brazil and Chile in 2007 with their last tour to South America in 2017, where they toured Mexico & Belize and also played in South American Championship, which they eventually won.
