Revised schedule announced for Central European Cup 2018 in Prague

International Cricket comes to Czech Republic, as the City of Prague will play host to Switzerland and Luxembourg in the 4-team Central European Cup 2018 from 15th – 17th Jun, 2018. Poland was also expected to join for the tournament but the revised schedule released by Czech Cricket does not feature them anymore.

Two teams from Czech Cricket (Czech Republic Eagles and Czech Republic Lions) will now take part in the tournament.

All matches will be played in the Village of Vinor, located on the edge of Prague. Czech Republic are the defending champions from the 2016 edition, featuring Switzerland and Estonia while Poland are the winners from the 2015 edition, that was played in the T20 format.

The tournament will be played in the 50-overs format with two matches per day in all the 3 days of the competition. This tournament will provide Czech Republic national squad players much needed International match exposure as they head towards ICC Europe World T20 qualifiers in Netherlands, later this year.

Switzerland Cricket have announced the squad for the 4-nation tournament:

Franklin Stefan, Matthew Martin, Shahnawaz Mohammad, Afzaal Sikander, Sajid Safiat, Asad Mahmood, Thileepan Rasalingam, Aidan Andrews, Tom Mampilly, Azeem Nazir, Faheem Nazir, Osama Mahmood, Waqas Khawaja & Ahmad Hassan

Switzerland and Poland will be in T20 action after this tournament in the 6-nation Euro Twenty20 Cup in Warsaw in Jul 2018.
