Grenada Cricket Association will be organizing the 2nd edition of Spice Isle T10 Cricket Tournament from April 05th – 18th, 2022 at at the National Cricket Ground. Nutmeg Warriors will be out to defend their Championship win from the inaugural edition, as the six (6) team compete for the title in a single round-robin group stage format, followed by the play-off’s.
Bay Leaf Blasters, Cinnamon Pacers, Clove Challengers, Ginger Generals, Nutmeg Warriors and Saffron Strikers are the 6 teams competing in the tournament, which will see all the matches getting live broadcast on Meaningful Television (MTV) channels 9,10 and 18. The tournament, sponsored by Dream11, will also see the matches get live streamed on the Fancode app and website for Indian territories. The tournament provides more exposure in terms of broadcast coverage to the domestic players in Grenada, who play in the domestic NLA GPL T20 tournament.
Clove Challengers boast of the additions of local veteran player Ronald Ettienne as the new Captain and overseas pros Kesrick Williams and Junior Henry to complement the talented group of retained players which includes the likes of former West Indies U19 players Teddy Bishop, Darron Nedd, and the experienced duo of Imran Joseph and Cyprian Forsyth. The Bayleaf Blasters who finished at the bottom of the table last year retained the experienced pair of Devon Smith and Denis Smith and adds to the Squad Windwards Volcanoes captain Kavem Hodge and the exciting top order batsman Jerlani Robinson.
Nutmeg Warriors retained the core of the team from last edition and would be looking for top performances from the likes of Seandell Regis, Donald Mc Donald, Akeem Alexis and the captain Andre Fletcher. Added to the squad this season is Windwards Volcanoes allrounder Keron Cottoy. Saffron Strikers adds a trio of overseas players Kenneth Dember, Dillon Douglas and Darius Martin to their retained group of Ryan John, Mickel Joseph, Lendon Lawrence and Kem Charles which will be aiming to progress further in this the 2nd edition.
