Paul Stirling has been named Ireland captain for their tours of Oman (T20I) and India (Afghanistan T20I series) in Feb/Mar 2019.
Ireland regular captain William Porterfield will continue to lead the ODI and Test squad on their tour of India for Afghanistan’s home series. Ireland regular T20I captain Gary Wilson is not going to take part in the tours due to a eye-condition injury.
Ireland will play Oman development XI squad in two T20 matches before taking on Oman, Scotland and Netherlands in the T20I Quadrangular series from Feb 15th – 17th, 2019.
Ireland have a busy 2019 schedule with one-off ODI and 4-day Test scheduled against England and an ODI Tri-series at home against West Indies/Bangladesh and a bi-lateral series at home against Zimbabwe.
