Takin City and Dragon Strikers have made it to the final of the India Bhutan Foundation (IBF) T20 tournament, to be played on 4th November at Pelkhil Oval.
In their final group match, Dragon Strikers defeated Thimpu Knights by 42 runs. Batting first, Strikers posted 164/8 in their 20 overs thanks largely to Ali’s 42 n.o and Asif’s 33 runs. Tandin and Arjun picked up 2 wickets for the Warriors.
In reply, Thimpu Knights were bowled out for 123 in 19.3 overs, hence losing the match by 41 runs. Tandin made 36 runs while Nima contributed 26 runs. Ali and Gokul picked up 3 wickets each for the Strikers.
Takin City entered the final after winning their final group match against BTCL in a high scoring game. Batting first, BTCL managed to post 158/5 in their 20 overs. Takin City took 19.4 overs to reach 159/4 and win the match by 6 wickets.
All eyes now on the grand final of a successfully held tournament by India Bhutan Foundation. Bhutan cricket is an associate member under the International Cricket Council and are also an Asian Cricket Council member.
The U-19 team recently participated in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup Eastern region Qualifiers.
