Canada announce squad for Windies Super50 Tournament

Cricket Canada have announced their 14-member squad for the upcoming Cricket West Indies (CWI) Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Tournament, to be played across venues at Trinidad and St.Kitts from Nov 06th – Dec 01st, 2019.

Canada is in Group A of the West Indies Super50 Cup and will play a double round robin series of matches in St Kitts against Barbados Pride, Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners, Leeward Islands Hurricanes and Jamaica Scorpions. Canada had a successful outing in the 2018 edition, registering a win against Winward Islands Volcanoes and providing good competition in the other group stage matches.

All group stage matches for Canada will be webcast “live” on the CWI website and YouTube channel. Canada is sending in a development squad after the squad which took part in the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers will be taking a break. Among the senior members from the qualifiers squad, only Nitish Kumar (highest run-scorer in the group stages of the qualifiers) has agreed to be a part of the squad in a player-mentor role to assist the youngsters during the competition.
