Canada announce squad for ICC World Cricket League Division 2

Cricket Canada have announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Division 2, to be held in Namibia from Feb 8th – 15th, 2018.

Nitish Kumar led squad will take on Kenya, UAE, Nepal, Namibia & Oman in the 6-team tournament, from which the top 2 teams will qualify for ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe in Mar 2018. Canada have previously featured in the 1987, 2003 & 2011 editions of the World Cup.

The team will leave for South Africa on Jan 24th – 25th for a preparatory camp before embarking to Namibia for Division 2. Canada will play practice matches against the University of Pretoria as part of the build-up before traveling to Namibia.

Nitish Kumar (Captain), Bhavindu Adhihetty, Navneet Dhaliwal, Ruvindu Gunasekara, Nicholas Kirton, Srimantha Wijeyeratne, Dhanuka Pathirana, Nikhil Dutta, Dilon Heyliger, Hamza Tariq, Cecil Pervez, Satsimranjit Dhindsa, Junaid Siddiqui & Saad Bin Zafar

Reserve Players: Umar Ghani & Anmar Khalid.

The Coaching team travelling with the squad include Ingleton Liburd, assistant coach Henry Osinda, with analyst Daulat Khan.
