Canada men’s squad announced for T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in Oman

Cricket Canada have announced their 14-member men’s national squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in Oman from February 15th – 25th, 2022. Canada team will be competing in the 8-nation qualifiers in a bid to secure one of the two available qualification spots into the first round of 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, for which the groupings and the schedule has been announced.

This will be the first T20Is for the team after their previous matches during the ICC T20 World Cup Americas qualifiers held in Antigua in 2021, where they claimed one of the two spots into the Global Qualifiers along with USA, who are part of Global Qualifiers B in Zimbabwe. The team will play two (2) warm-up matches against fellow opponents from the Qualifiers, Germany, before the group stages begin from 18th February 2022. The tournament will provide the likes of RayyanKhan Pathan, Harsh Thaker, Saad bin Zafar and Ravinderpal Singh the opportunity to showcase their skills on a global platform.

Dubai based eSports company, Galaxy Racer Holdings, have announced their sponsorship agreement with Cricket Canada for the Men’s national squad during the entire duration of the qualification tournament.

The following 14 players have been selected for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers: Navneet Dhaliwal (Captain), Dilon Heyliger, Rishiv Joshi, Jatinder Matharu, Shreyas Moova, Salman Nazar, Rayyan Pathan, Kaleem Sana, Junaid Siddiqui, Ravinderpal Singh, Matthew Spoors, Hamza Tarik, Harsh Thaker and Saad bin Zafar.
