Division Four in Malaysia is part of the 2017-2022 cycle for the World Cricket League, which determines the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Uganda will be competing against host’s Malaysia, Denmark, Jersey, Vanuatu and Bermuda for 2 qualifying spots into Division 3, slated to be held during the last quarter of 2018. Uganda have been preparing for a long time now for this event by touring Qatar and India and hosting Saudi Arabia at home.
Uganda head coach Steve Tikolo is confident of Uganda reclaiming their spot in Division 3, which they lost in the previous cycle of 2015-2017 WCL Championship by getting relegated to Division 4. “It was a very bad experience when we got demoted last year and we know what is expected of us this time,” Tikolo said in an interview to Xinhuanet.
