Cluj Cricket Club’s Taranjeet Singh started the 2018 Transylvania Cricket League (TCL) off to a flyer as he smashed an unbeaten 151 off only 71 deliveries to set-up the Cluj’s big margin victory of 122 runs over Kiev Cricket Club.
Cluj set a daunting target of 249, chasing which Kiev could only reach 126 before getting bowled out. Vasu Saini (2/7), Sukhkaran Singh (2/25) and Ismatullah Khan (2/14) led the bowling charts for Cluj CC.
Earlier, Taranjeet found good support from Gaurav Mishra (54 n.o off 40), as the duo took the team out of early trouble as they lost the first 3 wickets without much on the scoreboard to eventually finish at 248/3 from their 20 overs.
In the 2nd match of the day, Ukraine Cricket Association took on the Balkan Nomads CC at Moara Vlasiei ground in Bucharest, Romania. 6 Team/clubs are participating in the inaugural edition of TCL, which will be followed by 4-nation Continental Cup at the same venue in Jul 2018.
