In a path-breaking partnership between Cricket Mongolia and Oyu Tolgoi LLC, the National Park stadium in Ulaanbataar got a much required face-lift with the inauguration of OT Ger’vilion, a move which in intended to bring more youth into the sport and create awareness about health and safety.
The specifically built pavilion will contain facilities like changing rooms, first aid facility, Lockers for players and a Community area to discuss everything cricket and facilitate the future plans of Cricket Mongolia to the local communities.
There was much excitement at the opening ceremony on 27th May 2018, with Member of Parliament and Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Australian Ambassador to Mongolia John Langtry, Indian Ambassador to Mongolia Suresh Babu and Oyu Tolgoi’s Operations director Tim Eckersley, presided over the opening of the Ger’vilion, which took over a month to build.
Mongolian Cricket Association (MCA) is introducing cricket at the grass-root level in the country with the focus to make sure that children from diverse backgrounds including orphanage, state schools and international schools are all included in the program and benefit from it.
Cricket Mongolia also introduced their National Team Jersey, made in collaboration with Madame Seguin, is also available for purchase until stocks last.
