CWC Super League opponents face/off in rare bi-lateral series

Netherlands and Zimbabwe selectors have announced their respective squads for their upcoming bi-lateral series, to take place in Netherlands from Jun 19th – 25th, 2019. It will be a rare bi-lateral series between the two countries, who will be part of 2023 ICC World Cup Super League qualification pathway from 2020-2022 as well, where they will meet again, when Netherlands travel to Zimbabwe.

The two countries play two ODIs at Salland Cricket Club in Deventer on Jun 19th and 21st, before travelling to Rotterdam for two T20Is scheduled on Jun 23rd and 25th.

Somerset duo of Roelof van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren, along with Kent’s Fred Klassen are available for the series, while some of the other county professionals like Ryan ten Doeschate, Shane Snater and Tim van der Gugten miss out this time due to county commitments. The rest of the squad have had competitive match time with Netherlands “A” squad, which recently toured Guernsey for a 4-match T20 series.
