There have been a lot of notable performances delivered by players from Associate countries in 2018 in the longer-version format of white-ball cricket. The year saw lots of action in the 50-overs format with three World Cricket League Division, World Cup Qualifiers, Asia Cup Qualifiers, Asia Cup, USA and Canada’s participation in Windies regional tournament, Bi-lateral and one-off ODI/50-overs series.

There were lots of choices if one had to nail down the best possible XI from Associate countries for the whole year and after much consideration of performances throughout the year, Czarsportz brings you the 2018 Associate Men’s XI in 50-overs cricket (some names could be surprising folks, so get your thinking hats on as well):

6) Charles Amini Jr (Papua New Guinea)

7) Paras Khadka (Nepal)

8) Ahmed Raza (UAE)

9) Safyaan Sharif (Scotland)

10) Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal)

11) Paul van Meekeren (Netherlands)

12th Man: Ehsan Khan (Hong Kong)

Rest of the Squad: Sompal Kami (Nepal), Bilal Khan (Oman), Babar Hayat (Hong Kong) & Jan Frylinck (Namibia)

Others considered to be part of XI were Aaqib Ilyas (Oman), Collins Obuya (Kenya), Saurabh Netravalkar (USA), Irfan Afridi (Uganda), Norman Vanua (Papua New Guinea), Aizaz Khan (Hong Kong), Romesh Eranga Don (Canada) & Rameez Shahzad (UAE). Kyle Coetzer will be the Captain for the Associate XI, while Anshuman Rath would be his deputy.
