Quite a wondering issue as to why only a single match was organised on Day 4 of RUSLAN Dhangadhi Premier League 2 after two days of double-headers. An early end to cricket festivities for the day for Nepal fans and DPL administrators alike.
The match was not that to speak about too much barring some good individual performances. A well below-average total of 131 took the chasing team 18 overs to reach. Was the pitch or ground conditions doing much?? They do take a bit of spin and has slowness in their nature but nothing to not have a high scoring game.
Basically, the team batting first, Mahendranagar United were rocked from the onset by Team Chauraha Dhangadhi bowlers. If you lose half your side within the first 8 overs, it’s only damage control from there but credit to them as they finished above 130+.
The chasing team had the luxury of two well-known overseas professionals from UAE and the duo didn’t disappoint. Both got amongst the runs with Mustafa again playing a calm hand during the chase along with Sunil Dhamala.
Some serious re-thinking required from Mahendranagar United bowling stocks as they failed to pick up more wickets and the batting came a cropper. Team Chauraha Dhangadhi now win two consecutive matches and joins Kathmandu Goldens on top of the points table, having played a match extra than them.
Nepal domestic players made the job hard to come up with 5 best performances, but still did enough to make up a top 5 list from day 4 action from RUSLAN Dhangadhi Premier League 2:
1) Lalit Bhandari (Team Chauraha Dhangadhi)
2) Sunil Dhamala (Team Chauraha Dhangadhi)
2) Bhuvan Karki (Mahendranagar United)
3) Sompal Kami (Team Chauraha Dhangadhi)
5) Sonu Tamang (Team Chauraha Dhangadhi)
