Croatia Cricket appoint Darren Maddy as Men’s team Head Coach for Europe qualifiers

Former England International Darren Lee Maddy has been appointed as the Head Coach for the Croatian men’s national squad for the upcoming ICC 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup Europe sub-regional qualifiers in Finland in July 2022.

Maddy is a well-known personality in the English County Circuit, having played for Leicestershire and Warwickshire for a long period of time in the 1990’s and 2000’s, and has won England’s domestic T20 competition on multiple occasions as a player. Maddy is also the brand ambassador for the Mediterranean Cricket League (MCL) tournament, which is organized by Croatian Cricket Federation (CCF).

Croatia Men’s team will play their sub-regional group fixtures against Italy on 13th July, with Sweden on 15th, with Greece on 16th and with host’s Finland on 18th. Depending upon their results, Croatia team will play their respective play-off matches for qualification/position in the overall competition.
