Former South Africa International David Wiese has confirmed his immediate playing future with Namibia Men’s national squad, that will see him be available for selection for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in October/November in Oman and UAE.
Wiese, who is currently playing for Sussex County club in England’s Vitality T20 Blast competition, is eligible to represent Namibia as his Father was born in the country. Namibia head coach Pierre de Bruyn confirmed the development in the Namibian newsletter.
Pierre de Bruyn is hoping that conclusion of Sussex’s campaign in the tournament will decide when Wiese can join up with the national squad, as they are scheduled to play against Titans franchise and Free State franchise teams from South Africa, before flying to Oman for the T20 World Cup.
