Dansk Cricket Federation (DCF) have announced a series of matches to prepare the men’s national squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup European regional finals event set to take place in Desert Springs facility in Spain from October 13th – 22nd, 2021.
Denmark will host the men’s squad from Sweden from August 13th – 15th, where they play two T20-format matches in Copenhagen. Following the conclusion of the series, the national squad will travel to Netherlands from August 23rd – 25th to play a series of 4 T20-format matches. The squad will travel to Spain in mid-September for a pre-tournament training camp at Desert Springs, as they conclude preparations to take on Jersey, Italy and Germany in the European qualifiers for one qualification spot into the global qualifiers for 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The squad have more International competition beyond the European qualifiers, as they travel to Malaysia in November to take part in the 2nd round of ICC CWC Challenge League tournament (List-A), which is part of the qualification process for 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, where they will compete against the host’s, Canada, Qatar, Singapore and Vanuatu.
The national squad members and other domestic players have been taking part in domestic competitions in the past couple of months, with the national T20 tournament having reached its conclusion recently. The 50-overs competition is still happening across the venues in the country.
